Mellasat Vineyards are celebrating Chardonnay #ChardoMay Day! They are passionate about Chardonnay and we would like to share a new 2018 vintage with you. Every weekend in May starting from the 7th of May 2022.
If you are a Chardonnay fan join them on a tour of senses with a tasting of 2018 Chardonnay as well as a 2021 Seraphic unwooded white blend, paired with a delicious Potato and Leek soup.
Mellasat makes their Chardonnay in a Burgundian style – if you are interested in finding out more, visit us on the following weekends at Mellasat Vineyards:
7th – 8th, 14th – 15th, 21st – 22nd, and the 28th – 29th May 2022.
Times: from 11:00 until 15:00 on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 until 14:00.
The cost for the tasting and the soup is R95.00 per person.

Wine of the Month
It is International Chardonnay Day on the 26th May 2022. Mellasat Chardonnay 2018 is made in the Burgundian style and was bottled in October 2021. The wine was fermented and matured in barrel for 11 months and they only made 3 barrels, of which one was a new barrel. Even though there is 33% new wood on the wine, the wine is very smooth, rich and is filled with citrus flavours, nutty and soft tannins – it is proving very popular, and is available for R140 per bottle.
Seraphic 2021 is also available and this blend is 40% Chardonnay, 30% Viognier, and 30% Chenin Blanc. The Chardonnay gives the backbone to a popular unwooded white blend. Available for R90.00 per bottle – an absolute steal!
