Taalmonument se eerste 2022-volmaanpiekniek op die horison
Dis tyd om vorentoe te kyk, dus sluit by die Afrikaanse Taalmuseum en -monument se vriendelike personeel aan om vanjaar se eerste Volmaanpiekniek op Vrydag, 15 Januarie 2022, tydens ʼn heerlike somersaand op die beeldskone Paarlberg te vier.
Dié pieknieks is baie gewild onder plaaslike inwoners én toeriste, wat veral die sonsondergang en pragtige naguitsig van die vallei geniet. Besoekers kan enige tyd tussen 17:00 en 22:00 kom piekniek hou en die monument, ʼn simboolgelaaide beeldhouwerk sonder weerga, besigtig. Gaste word aangemoedig om die omgewing te verken en het ook toegang tot veilige parkering, buitelug-speletjies, kinderspeelparke asook ’n gedigte-uitstalling.

Toegang is R40 per volwassene, R10 vir SA studente en pensionarisse en R5 vir almal onder 18 jaar. Kaartjies is beskikbaar by Computicket of die hek, en geen besprekings is nodig nie. Jaarpermitte is beskikbaar teen R120 vir individue of R220 per gesin, wat toegang tot alle Volmaanpieknieks insluit. Die piekniekreeks word aangebied ten bate van ‘Laat ons Lees!’, die Taalmuseum se geletterdheidsprojek vir kinders, en besoekers word versoek om ʼn nuwe of tweedehandse kinderboek te skenk.

Taalmonument’s first 2022 full moon picnic on the horizon
It’s time to look ahead, so join the friendly staff of the Afrikaans Language Museum and Monument to celebrate this year’s first Full Moon Picnic on Saturday, 15 January 2022, during a wonderful summer evening on the beautiful Paarl Mountain.
The picnics are very popular with locals and tourists alike, who particularly enjoy the sunsets and incredible night scenes. Visitors can come anytime between 17:00 and 22:00, and have a look at the monument that is an exceptional, symbol-laden sculpture. Guests are encouraged to explore the area, and also have access to secure parking, outdoor games, children’s playgrounds as well as an outdoor poetry exhibition.
Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic baskets (no glass). Dress warmly and bring a torch, and a mask. See www.taalmuseum.co.za/covid-19/ for the specific protocols.
Tickets are R40 per adult, R10 for SA students and R5 for anyone under 18 years. They are available from Computicket or at the gate, and no booking is required. Annual permits are available at R120 for individuals or R220 per family, which includes access to all Full Moon Picnics. The evenings are held in aid of ‘Let’s Read!’, the Language Museum’s literacy project for children, and visitors are encouraged to donate a new or second-hand children’s book.
