Observe their main mouse on the farm, Alta Eybers, and learn a thing or two about making cheese. The class kicks off with meeting the farm’s herd of water buffalo, responsible for producing the milk they use to make their traditional style buffalo mozzarella cheese. Back in the Babylonstoren Cheese Room, Alta will demonstrate the craft behind making this creamy delicacy – from cutting the curds to stretching them into balls. The class also includes a cool demonstration by Babylonstoren artisanal ice-cream maker Carla Hills of how to make your own authentic water buffalo gelato! Finally, guests are invited to a hands-on fior di latte experience before being treated to a lunch of cheese, meats and preserves, fresh from the Babylonstoren deli store – the perfect end to a cheesy day!
