Paarl is the Hub of MTB in S.A Again this coming weekend when the Western Province Cross Country mountain Bike series comes to town. The popular series is well known for nonstop action and great entertainment.
It is going to be a full day of action at the recently revamped Laborie Wine Estate on Main Road Paarl with 20 races taking place on the event day. There are 3 main courses comprising of
- 2.5km Short route for the Kiddies
- 3.5km Middle Route for the Juniors, Open class, and E-Bikes
- 4.5km Long Route for the Elites
Each race has various age divisions and competitors will be racing laps on their designated route for about 1 hour. In a1st for the series,
In a 1St for the series, The event will now also have an open class as well as an E-bike Class on the Day. These open fun classes give cyclists who might not be competitive but want to enjoy a great route and have some fun on the day.
XCO is vital to the growth of the sport and a great feeder series to nurture talent in the sport.
Specialized Paarl, Paarl Trails, Tygerberg MTB, and Western Province cycling are all passionate supporters of cycling in the province and have pulled all their resources together to make the event possible.
Entries are open to everyone; you don’t need to be a racing snake to come and enjoy a great event
There will be lots of off-the-bike activities on the go over the weekend at Laborie estate, so bring the entire family and come and support.
